Dr. Jimmy L. Jackson  (10th. Dan / Meijin, Ph.D., AS)  Send E-mail to Dr. Jimmy L. Jackson
Grand Master Jimmy L. Jackson was introduced to the martial arts while in high school. His quest for martial knowledge began in 1962 when he approached a friend who was home from the army basic training and playfully grabbed him from the rear in a bear hug. One second he was standing behind his friend lifting his feet off the ground and the next microsecond he was on the ground face up, looking up at the blue sky wondering how he got there. That experience began his search for martial arts training that would last for a lifetime.

He began his formal martial arts training under the guidance of Master Bernard Collins in Shorin Ryu Karate and Karenzu- Kai Karate. He has also studied with Master Mike Foster in Yoshukai Karate Do. This diversity in training has led him to train with such notables as Master Jackie Mole, Master Mike Green, Sifu Don “The Dragon” Wilson, and Sensei Bill “Super foot” Wallace, Sensei Tony Graziano, Doctor H. T. Walker and Soke John A. Suarez.

Because of the diversity of training, Grand Master Jackson is ranked in multiple disciplines and styles of the martial arts. Grand Master Jackson holds the rank of Judan, 10th Degree Black Belt in Kenwayoshin Ryu Karate, Jiu Jitsu and Kobudo and is the founder of AikiGoshin Jutsu Self Defense Systems. He is also ranked as Rokudan, 6th Degree Black Belt in Shorin Ryu Karate, Sandan, 3rd Degree Black Belt in Wado Ryu Karate, Nidan, 2nd Degree Black Belt in Okinawa Kenpo Karate, Sandan, 3rd Degree Black Belt in Shintoyoshin Ryu Jiu Jitsu and Nidan, 2nd Degree Black Belt in Toyojin Ju Jitsu. Professor John E. Chambers  (10th. Dan/ Professor)  Send E-mail to Professor John E. Chambers
Professor John E. Chambers has been involved in the Martial Arts for fifty three years. He became absolutely fascinated with Judo at the age of fourteen after seeing a movie staring Humphrey Bogart back in the 1940’s. In the movie Bogart portrayed a Judo expert who got into a fight in a bar with a Judo Grandmaster. The throw by the experts in the movie were awesome to a fourteen year old skinny kid. He left the movie determined to find someone to teach him Judo. He soon found a Judo class being taught at the YMCA by a young new black belt who was in the Navy just back for Japan. Not having any money for dues, he just sat on the gym floor and watched the class for weeks. One day the instructor came over and asked him to join the class, after explaining that he did not have the money for dues, the instructor took him by the hand and said; “To hell with the dues kid, you come on and get in this class.” That started his Martial Arts career; he has never stopped studying and / or teaching after that. He received his black belt from the Korea Yudo College and the Kodokan in Tokyo, Japan. In his travels he has studied with Mas Oyama, Bruce Lee, and the entire Korea Yudo Olympic Team. He has instructed such notables as former world champion Joe Lewis and Chuck Norris.

Professor Chambers has distinguished himself over the years as a martial artist by being ranked in black belt grades in Yudo / Judo, Yusool, Jiu Jitsu, Tae Kwon Do and Moo Duk Kwan. Professor Chambers was also awarded the highest martial arts honor that Korea can bestow upon a martial artist, “The Meritorious Letter of Commendation.” Professor Chambers was the very first American to ever receive this award.

After many years of training, Professor Chambers was summoned to travel to Korea where their highest Yudo Grandmaster, Won Tae Lee, promoted him to 9th Dan. Grandmaster Lee was 100 years old and could barely speak when he said, “You are the first and only non-Korean to ever be elevated to the rank of 9th degree black belt, outside of the Republic of Korea!”

Professor Cambers is the President and Founder of Martial Arts USA and an advisor of the American Martial Arts Renmei, Inc.

"It is with great regret that Professor Chambers announced his retirement from the martial arts and passed the rains of Martial Arts USA to his successor Master Larry Beard. AMAR would like to wish Professor Chambers peace and harmony in his retirement. Our professional association blossomed into a beautiful friendship and has been a rewarding one for those in AMAR. Master Beard has chosen to continue the professional association between the American Martial Arts Renmei and Martial Arts USA. We at AMAR are looking forward to an expanded relationship with Master Beard and MAUSA."
- Professor John E. Chambers

Shihan Mary McIntire is a forth (40) year veteran of the martial arts starting in Judo at the age of fourteen. She eventually missed several classes and was too shy to go back to class, a lesson that she remembered later in life and was extremely consistent in her martial arts training. While in college, she started taking a self-defense class, which included Jiu Jitsu, Karate and Aikido. She later joined a Karate Club and trained several hours a day, seven days a week.

After graduation she moved to Sarasota Florida to intensify her study in Aikido and was fortunate that a year later Mitsugi Saotome Shihan, unquestionably one of the world’s best Aikidoka, moved to the United States and began teaching in Sarasota. Shihan McIntire continued her study of Jiu Jitsu and Karate, training with Masters Douglas Gross and Dennis Hill. Of the three arts, she spent the next several years working hardest in Karate, obtaining her highest rank in Jiu Jitsu, and loving Aikido the most. During that same time she met grand Master John Suarez and began training with him in Shintoyoshin Ryu Jiu Jitsu and Wado Ryu Karate.

She eventually moved to Nashville Tennessee and started Nashville Aikikai in 1989. Shihan McIntire was recently promoted to Hachidan, 8th Degree Black Belt in Shintoyoshin Ryu Jiu Jitsu by Grand Master John Suarez. Kasandra Leclair  (1st Dan / Sensei)  Send E-mail to Kasandra Leclair
Adanshi Kasandra “Kasi” Leclair began her martial arts journey at the tender age nine under the tutelage of John T. Kennedy, Sensei in the art of Tang Soo Do. Her interest in the martial arts was sparked from playing video games with her grandparents where she dreamed of being the main character in one of the videos and would one day learn to fight with the sword.

After a year and a half of training, Kennedy, Sensei announced that he was closing the school to move to Virginia. That meant that she would be losing her amazing teacher who had been so patient and always willing to try it “one more time.”

As an affiliate of the American Martial Arts Renmei, Sensei Kennedy asked Master Bill Holland and Master Jimmy Jackson if they would assume the training of his students. In January of the next year, “Kasi began her training in the arts of Kenwayoshin Ryu Karate, Jiu Jitsu and Kobudo. On December 8, 2007, she attended her first martial arts open tournament in Elizabethtown, Kentucky as a Green Belt, hosted by Grandmaster Bobby Sheroan at Sheroan’s Tae Kwon Do Academy. Her rewards were great in that she took 1st place in Kata, 1st place in sparring and 2nd place in grappling. She described it as being a wonderful experience.

In November of 2008, she began the second part of the Journey when she began training with Sensei Ken Johnsen in Iaijutsu and is looking forward to her Iaido exam in June of 09, her dream is coming true. However, the night that she will remember the most is December 5, 2008, when she tested for her Black Belt in Kenwayoshin Ryu Karate and was awarded her Black Belt immediately after the exam. She gives credit to Sensei’s Craig Cook, A. J. Deese, Tyrell Jackson, Jibreel Johnson and Adanshi Aric Popun for all of the help that they provided to her.

Sensei Leclair commented: “In order to get where I am today, which, though I’ve come a long way really isn’t far at all in the scheme of things. It is hard for me to believe that my journey started so many years ago in a small living room with my grandparents and now I help instruct other students, and even now it is just the beginning of an endless journey that will lead me through my entire life.”
